The Muhlenberg Surgery Center's mission is to provide safe, high quality ambulatory surgery and related services, in a low stress environment utilizing state-of-the-art equipment at a competitive price. Hours of Service Monday - Friday (8:00AM - 4:30PM) Advantages of ambulatory surgery center are:  Usually very little waiting timeAccommodates individuals who desire elective surgeryTurn-around time between surgeries is three to ten times faster in an ambulatory surgery center versus a hospital operating roomThe costs for surgery is less than hospital operating roomsLow infection rateUnlike a hospital, an ambulatory surgery center accommodates patients who do not anticipate a long stay. Our staff works diligently with the physicians to deliver quality care to our patients. Scheduled surgery times may vary due to emergencies.An ambulatory surgery center staff member will contact you the day before your scheduled procedure to obtain a medical history and determine your individual needs. Calls are made before 9:00AM and after 3:00PM. If you have not received a call please contact the Surgery Center at 270-338-9929.Do not eat or drink after midnight the night before surgery.Do not bring valuables with you.Bring an updated list of medications (including over-the-counter and herbal medicines).Prescribed medications for breathing, blood pressure, or heart may be taken the morning of surgery with a small sip of water.On the day of your procedure, you will meet your healthcare team: Anesthesiologist, RN, and other healthcare professionals).If you have a surgical procedure, you will spend a brief time in our recovery area while your families wait in the lobby. Pediatric patients may have one parent or guardian in recovery with them.Following your procedure, you will receive home care instructions.
