Cell Phone Usage
Cell phones may not be used in patient care areas. We ask that family members limit cell phone usage throughout the Surgery Center and be respectful of others around you. Please keep ring tones on low or vibrate.

Tobacco-Free Campus
Muhlenberg Surgery Center promotes quality health including disease prevention by providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Therefore, the use of tobacco products including cigarettes, pipes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and snuff are prohibited at the Surgery Center.

HIPPA
The Health Information Portability and Accountability Privacy Act (HIPPA) is intended to assure that personal identifiable information on our patients is protected. All records are confidential. Copies of medical records can only be obtained by the patient by presenting a photo identification and sign a consent form for release of information. Family members or friends may only obtain the record if they provide legal documentation designating them as Power of Attorney. Durable Power of Attorney for healthcare decision making is not acceptable.

Financial Responsibility
All patients are instructed on payment options and methods during the registration process. Please bring all insurance information to the Surgery Center each time you come for services. Co-pays and deductibles must be made at the time of service. The Surgery Center will work quickly to file your insurance. Your help may be needed to resolve any insurance denials. If your insurance has not paid within 45 days, you may be responsible for the entire bill. The Surgery Center accepts cash, checks, VISA and Mastercard. Responsible parties who have no insurance must pay on or before the day of the procedure. These parties must contact the Surgery Center for discounted payment options. The Surgery Center also provides a service called Care Credit, a healthcare insurance credit card specifically designed to pay for treatment and procedures not covered by insurance. Responsible parties who have obligations after an insurance payment, are expected to pay within 30 days of billing. If unable to pay in full, payment arrangements must be made through the Surgery Center's business office.

Muhlenberg Surgery Center charges do not include fees for professional services, such as pathologists, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, or other professionals that may be involved in your care. You may receive a separate bill for these services.
